On a mission
16May06
LAST year's NSW Ice Hockey Mens League runners-up seem to be on a mission.
Featuring all local players, Penrith Phantoms travelled to face the Canterbury Evergrows on Sunday and came away with an impressive 11-1 win in what was easily their best game of the season.
The Phantoms moved into top grear from the start scoring six unanswered goals in the first of three periods and were never threatened.
Penrith's Ben Bennett, who took out the League's scoring title last year, was the game's MVP scoring five goals and assisting on two others.
The Phantoms will look to continue their great form this weekend with a home game at the Penrith Ice Palace on Sunday at 9.45am against the in-form Canterbury Chiefs with an under-15s game on beforehand at 8.30am.
The following weekend features a double header with the Phantoms playing the Cental Coast Cyclones on Saturday, May 27 at 6.30pm. The next day they will take on Canterbury Evergrows again at 6.45pm.
Entry into the Penrith Ice Palace is free and for more info on local ice hockey visit www.penrithphantoms.com.au.
